Jonathan Tedds

Jonathan Tedds is the ELIXIR Europe Programme Manager for Scientific Computing. ELIXIR is a European life sciences infrastructure, bringing together scientists from over 240 research institutes spread over 21 Member countries, 3 Observer countires and EMBL-EBI. It enables researchers to access and analyse life science data, to improve the value and impact of life science research on public health, the environment and the economy. He coordinates the ELIXIR Tools and Compute Platforms and leads on ELIXIR’s involvement in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), based at our Cambridge Hub.

He worked as a postdoctoral researcher in astrophysics of dynamicla interactions in star formation, later astronomical survey science for the ESA/NASA XMM-Newton Survey Science Centre and co-developed national and international data informatics infrastructure in UK AstroGrid, European Virtual Observatory and International Virtual Observatory Alliance. He has led multi domain research data informatics projects including a major UK biomedical open source software service kit (BRISSKit), institutional research data management, research data peer review, environmental health. He is a Chair of Trustees for 9 schools.
