
Shoaib started his career working as a systems programmer and then software developer in the commercial sector, acquiring an ISO certified commercial background and experience in related aspects of software quality. He joined the University of Manchester in 2009, working on project management (including software, architecture and quality processes) in the University’s eScience Lab. His interests span creating and sustaining high-performance teams, distributed agile project management and the promotion of best practice in research software projects. Shoaib led the UK Software Sustainability Institute’s (SSI) community engagement activities and strategies for over 10 years.
Shoaib is the lead for EVERSE RSQKit. He is a project member of the EVERSE and ELIXIR-STEERS projects which focus on research software quality, Fellowship Lead at the SSI and Portfolio Manager at the eScience Lab.
